The Phantom with skull in background, Copic Marker Drawing

The Phantom

The Phantom is a character I’ve always found interesting. But I haven’t had too many opportunities to draw him. This was a piece I did for myself a while back and sold it at a recent convention.

Dragon – Convention Sketch Pen & Ink

Dragon – Convention Sketch – Pen & Ink 2017

I love drawing creatures… and dragons are particularly fun subjects. Often, during the rare, quiet lulls at conventions, I’ll start a sketch. Sometimes, these doodles turn into something special. This is a favorite cons sketch!

Joker Bust – Work in Progress

Super Sculpey on Aluminum Wire Armature 2013 After my first knee replacement surgery, I was looking for a way to get off the awful pain meds. My physical therapist suggested doing something with my hands. I started sculpting this Joker bust as a way to keep my mind off the pain. It worked very well, …

The Badger, MARX figure (front view) - Maquette Sculpting

Badger Sculpture – Work in Progress

Super Sculpey on Aluminum Wire Armature 2017 This is a personal project that began as a demonstration in my Character Maquette Sculpting class.  The figure is the same scale as the great, MARX plastic figures from the 1960s. MagiQuest – Lumina – Great Wolf Resorts Digital Painting 2012

Lumina is a pixie light guardian. She’s only about 8 inches tall. She was a lot of fun to paint and the 3D model created for the game looks very much like this concept art.

Ivan is the good yeti who helps the players battle Malaki.

MagiQuest – Ivan – Great Wolf Resorts Digital Painting 2012

Ivan is the good yeti who helps the players battle Malaki. He was described to me as looking a little like an abominable snowman version of famous character actor, Wilford Brimley.

The villain, Malaki, (originally called the “Light Eater”) is an evil yeti who steals the light.

MagiQuest – Malaki – Great Wolf Resorts Digital Painting 2012

Great Wolf Lodge set out to create a new adventure for their popular, interactive resort game, MagiQuest. They commissioned me to design a set of original characters, based on the story for their new adventure. The villain, Malaki, (originally called the “Light Eater”) is an evil yeti who steals the light.
