A chance to paint Marvel Superheroes?
I was thrilled when TSR decided to produce these series of adventure paperbacks and Gamer’s Handbooks because it provided an opportunity to paint most of the characters whose adventures I grew up with. Our handbooks were modeled after the ones Marvel was already doing in the comics. Marvel wanted the gamer-versions to look different, which is why we opted to go with paintings, rather than line art.
Many of these pieces are also from the Marvel Superheroes Role Playing Game, while others are more recent efforts from Raven Software’s X-Men: Legends II and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance video games.
